Di-Annah seck

Di-annah Seck was born and raised in Amsterdam, but her roots trace back to Senegal and Suriname. Coming from a family where creativity and a passion for dance and music are paramount, as a young girl, Di-annah looked up to artists like Michael Jackson and Beyoncé. She also admired her Surinamese grandmother, who was a seamstress and her Senegalese aunts who danced Sabar.

At the age of 6, she began gymnastics and Capoeira. However, she quickly discovered that her true passion lay in dancing. Three years later, at the age of 8, Di-annah joined the dance group Untouchables, where the focus was on Streetdance, Afro, and Choreography. With this dance group, Di-annah traveled to various places across Europe and participated in various competitions and performances.

From the age of 14, she began teaching at Motion Dance Studio as an Afro and street dance instructor. Within her classes, self-love, unity, and creativity were central themes. For Di-annah, it doesn’t matter where you come from or what you look like; you can achieve anything you set your mind to! With her Senegalese-Surinamese roots and her own identity, she shapes her unique self within the realm of dance.

In addition to dancing, Di-annah also has a passion for marketing and helping others. In 2022, she founded her own charity dance event in Amsterdam called DARANKA.
