Yara van Fraeijenhove

Yara van Fraeijenhove, born in Amsterdam, started taking classical ballet lessons when she was young. Later, she was accepted into the 5 o’clock class, a preparatory program at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. Here, Yara discovered the real world of dance and realized that there was much more to it than just ballet.

After completing the 5 o’clock class, Yara was accepted into the JMD (urban contemporary) program, also at the Amsterdam University of the Arts, where she graduated in 2017.

Since then, Yara has danced with various companies such as Isabelle Beernaert and Introdans, and has worked with choreographers from both the Netherlands and abroad, including Perry Gits, Sarada Sarita, Jason Mabana, and Raymi Sambo.

Currently, she dances for Blackbirds by Dalton Jansen and in reframing her story art foundation.

In addition to her performing work, Yara has developed a great love for teaching and wants to continue growing in this area.

Yara’s greatest desire is to pass on everything she has learned to the next generation.
