CBRE Investment Management has signed a letter of intent with Foundation Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre and Open Space Contemporary Art Museum (OSCAM) to continue their housing in Amsterdamse Poort.
CBRE Investment Management has signed a letter of intent with Foundation Amsterdam Hip Hop Centre and Open Space Contemporary Art Museum (OSCAM) for continuing their housing in Amsterdamse Poort.
Currently, OSCAM and Foundation are housed in temporary locations within shop units in the Poort. In the summer of 2025, they will move to a recently redeveloped building next to the residential complex Zandkasteel in Zuidoost. This temporary housing is a precursor to their relocation to a permanent spot in the yet-to-be-built ‘Cluster 8’.
Cluster 8 will also accommodate several other smaller cultural organizations that share the vision of culture in Zuidoost and community spirit in the area. CBRE IM, an investor in the redevelopment of Amsterdamse Poort, is convinced of the importance and strength of concepts like those of OSCAM and Foundation.
LOCAL NEEDS
In the transformation of the Poort, entrepreneurs and cultural-social organizations are given the space to experiment and practically test concepts in an accessible way. The goal is to ensure that the offerings are aligned with local needs, to enhance the vibrancy and appeal of the area.

Foundation is a cultural house where all disciplines of hip hop come together, offering young people from Zuidoost the chance to experience the core values of hip hop – peace, love, unity, respect, and having fun. And of course, we are also looking forward to new collaborations with other cultural organizations in Amsterdamse Poort.”
SHOPPING AREA
Amsterdamse Poort is the main shopping area in Amsterdam Zuidoost. The center is an investment of the Dutch shopping platform managed by CBRE Investment Management. CBRE IM was guided by Brand The Urban Agency in securing a permanent place in the Poort for OSCAM and Foundation.
