Three Da Hard Way Battle
Three Da Hard Way is a cultural dance event and competition focused on the dance styles of Breaking, Hip-hop, and House. Each of these dance styles has its own rules, codes, and communities, but we aim to bring these communities together. The event’s goal is to unite our local communities and learn from each other.
1. Individual Battles
Dancers can participate as soloists in a dance battle in their specific style. Here, they can prove themselves in their familiar and comfortable environment.
2. Judging
Dancers will be judged by international and local experts who will be present at the event. This jury will select the top 8 dancers in each category during a preselection. The preselections will take place on August 2nd between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Foundation Amsterdam Hip-Hop Center.
3. Teams of Three
The judges will form 8 dance groups of three, consisting of 1 dancer per style. These groups will have the opportunity to prepare together at Foundation Amsterdam under the guidance of some of the world’s greatest artists during a masterclass.
4. 1vs1 Battle in Own Style + Cross-style 3vs3 Battle
In addition to empowering dancers by letting the top 8 dancers in each category determine who the strongest dancer is, we also challenge them to open themselves up for the final. This will be an interdisciplinary 3vs3 battle taking place at the cultural festival Kwakoe.
In addition to the exciting battles, we are proud to announce that various judges will be present, including TLM, DJ SD, John Agesilas, Nedda Sou, Yugson Hawks, Bboy Dietje, and Jiv The Chief. These talented judges will add even more color to the event with their spectacular demos.
